Impartiality Statement
TUV United recognizes that impartiality and the perception of impartiality are necessary for TUV United to deliver certification that provides confidence. TUV United is committed to impartiality in its certification activities, understands the importance of impartiality, manages conflicts of interest, and ensures the objectivity of its certification activities. TUV United will not allow commercial, financial, or other pressures to compromise impartiality.
Our Commitments
Independence of Auditors
All auditors are independent of the organizations they audit. Auditors who have provided consultancy to an organization within 2 years are excluded from its audit.
No Consultancy Services
TUV United does not provide management system consultancy. We do not advise organizations on how to build or maintain management systems we certify.
Transparent Decision Making
Certification decisions are made by personnel different from those who conducted the audit, ensuring independent review.
Conflict of Interest Register
All personnel declare potential conflicts of interest. These are reviewed and managed through our documented conflict of interest procedure.
Impartiality Committee
An independent impartiality committee monitors our certification activities and advises on matters that may affect impartiality.
Periodic Review
Our impartiality policy and procedures are reviewed annually and whenever significant changes occur in our operations.
Impartiality Committee
TUV United maintains an Impartiality Committee composed of external members with no financial interest in our certification activities. The committee meets at least annually to review our impartiality risks, evaluate effectiveness of safeguards, and advise management on any concerns. Committee members are appointed based on their expertise and independence from TUV United's commercial interests.
